Over time you’ll need to clean your grout floor to restore its beauty. So much dirt will collect on the grout that you will actually forget that it is supposed to be a color and not black! Here is the correct way to remove that dirt that is hiding the beauty of your tile floor.
Make a Clean Grout Floor
The best way to clean a grout floor is to use the natural products that for most people have been lost to time. Borax and baking soda are natural products that give the best results in removing organic stains like dirty grout. These products do a spectacular job in removing stains like dirt, food items and grass stains, but won’t do a thing for nonorganic messes like ink spills.
To get your tile floor looking like brand new, mix 1/4 cup of borax with 1/2 cup of baking soda and mix. Then add boiling water until it is a runny, paste-like consistency. Stir well and immediately apply to the grout in the floor, scrubbing it in as you go. Do not wipe it up immediately. This mixture needs time to work its magic. You will need to let it sit for at least 20 minutes to give it time to break down the dirt and organic matter. After the wait is done, rinse and you will have beautiful grout once again.
There is nothing toxic about Borax or baking soda, but it is best to wear gloves to keep it from destroying your manicure and drying out your hands. Read the safety guidelines on the boxes for more information on proper handling of these materials.
